I’ve also been writing about music since 2009 when I first launched CreativeGuitarStudio.com as a means of helping other musicians who, like myself, wanted more than just “tabs” from an online resource.

One of the keys to learning guitar is having a lot of fun. You need to learn and practice, but you also have to enjoy what you are doing. If you don’t, then that will show through in your playing.

Many people tend to be self conscious about their playing when they first start out. They don’t want anyone else to hear them play because they know that they aren’t going to sound very good.

The only way to get over this is to take it slow and let your hands and fingers get used to the movements and chords. Don’t worry about how fast you can play a song; just focus on getting the chords down. Over time, your hands will get stronger and faster and your playing will naturally speed up. When you can play a song slowly, then you are ready to start increasing your speed.
