Our staff is comprised of a wide variety of talented writers, editors, researchers, and other content specialists.
Our columnists are hand-picked by our editorial staff to bring you the most current, relevant, and informative information available. We seek out the very best in their particular field and offer them a platform for their voice to be heard.
Meet the team:
Julia is our lead designer. She has been at the company for over 5 years and continues to inspire us with her work.
Irene is our product manager. She is a new addition to the team and has incorporated many of her ideas into our products.
Jacob is our CEO. He has founded the company, grown it to 100 employees, and oversees all operations.
At cadd9, we are a team of very different people. We’re all passionate about music, but our backgrounds, training, and interests vary widely. This really works to our advantage, because we all bring something unique to the table. It’s not unusual for us to get into a discussion about some aspect of music that can last for hours at a time!
We love what we do and we love talking about it. In this blog, we’ll be sharing with you some of the things that are on our minds as we go through our day-to-day routine of working with students and teachers from around the world.
Hi, I’m Cate. I’m a strategy and operations consultant who loves to work with entrepreneurs to create and scale their businesses. I am excited to be part of this team because I love the idea of making it easier for people to connect with each other. We’re creating a platform that people can use to learn more about themselves and others, which I think will lead to stronger and more genuine relationships.
I grew up in New Jersey and went to school in Boston. Although I spent most of my life on the East Coast, after a few years working as a consultant in NYC, I made the jump out west to San Francisco last year. Since moving here, I have enjoyed exploring California and all the West Coast has to offer. In my free time, you can find me hiking or at yoga class, trying out new restaurants around the city, or catching up with friends over a glass of wine (or two).
The first feature of our team is the founders: Elijah, Olivia and Erika. They are the heart and soul of Cadd9.io, and do everything from programming to business development.
The second feature is our team of writers. They include: Chloe, Nate, Paul, and Isaac. They are all rock stars but also have a great sense of humor.
The third feature is our advisory board. They help us with everything from marketing to product feedback to business strategy.

I’m the founder and CEO of Udacity. I’ve worn a lot of hats over my career, but at heart I’m a teacher. I received my PhD in Physics from Stanford University, where I was a member of the Stanford Solar Car Project and the Stanford Artificial Intelligence Laboratory. After that, I taught at Stanford, in both Computer Science and Electrical Engineering. Eventually, I joined the faculty of Carnegie Mellon University’s Computer Science Department, where I led their Robotics Institute. In 2005, I returned to Stanford as a Professor of Computer Science.
While at Stanford, I became excited about using online learning to expand access to high quality education for more students everywhere. That’s why we started Udacity. We believe that higher education is a basic human right, and we seek to empower our students to develop their careers, and become more successful contributors to society. We hope you’ll join us!
