This blog is about all the basics of guitalele such as: parts of the guitalele, tuning, notes, etc. A guitalele is a cross between a guitar and a ukulele. There are many reasons why people love the guitalele. First of all it is a very portable instrument so it can be taken anywhere at anytime. Secondly, since it has six strings it gives a fuller sound than the regular ukulele. Finally, many people say that the guitalele sounds just like a muted classical guitar and sounds very similar to some acoustic guitars (e.g. Taylor 214ce).

This blog is all about the basics of a guitalele, or guitarlele.
A guitalele, or guitarlele, is a six-string instrument which is tuned A D G C E A. It is commonly referred to as a cross between a classical guitar and an ukulele.

The guitalele is a cross between a guitar and a ukulele. It has six strings like a guitar but it is tuned like a ukulele. The guitalele is a pretty unique instrument. It is slightly bigger than a ukulele, hence the name: guitar + ukulele = guitalele. The guitalele (and by extension, the ukulele) is tuned like the top four strings of a guitar, which allows for easy transposition between the two instruments. This makes the guitalele great for travel, as it is much smaller than a normal guitar.
The guitalele is tuned like a guitar an octave higher, which looks like this: ADGCEA (or like this if you prefer to think of it in terms of notes: A2 D3 G3 C4 E4 A4). In other words, if you are playing a song in standard guitar tuning (EADGBE), you would transpose it down two half steps to play it on the guitalele. Therefore, if you want to play a song in the key of C major on the guitalele, you would play it in C
The guitalele is a cross between a classical guitar and a ukulele. The guitalele is tuned like a classical guitar except that it is pitched up an octave higher. The guitalele sounds great and is easy to learn, so if you are looking for guitar tabs or chords, this blog is a good place to start.
