The Story Behind the Song

The band’s lead vocalist, Josh Shapiro, has a unique connection to the Westmoreland County Fair. He spent his childhood summers working at the fair, and the memories of those summers have had a lasting impact on his life and music. The song “Big Shot Money” is a reflection of those experiences and the emotions that come with them. The song’s lyrics are deeply personal and relatable, drawing from Josh’s own experiences working at the fair. The song’s themes of nostalgia, longing, and the search for identity are woven throughout the music. The band’s use of outlaw country and Americana influences adds a unique flavor to the song.

The Musical Style

Rocket Loves Blue’s music is a blend of outlaw country, Americana, and roots rock. The band’s sound is characterized by:

  • Josh’s distinctive vocals and storytelling ability
  • The band’s use of pedal steel guitar and banjo
  • The driving rhythms and energetic instrumentation
  • The Release of “Big Shot Money”

The release of “Big Shot Money” was a culmination of the band’s experiences at the Westmoreland County Fair.

We started to get a lot of attention from the band and the crowd, and we realized that we had found our niche.

The Birth of Rocket Loves Blue

Rocket Loves Blue was born out of a serendipitous moment of musical discovery. The band’s lead singer, Rachel, had been performing at various events and open mic nights in Pittsburgh, but she had yet to find the right sound. That was until the night she met the Honky Tonk band, who were playing a gig at a local bar.

This time, we were inspired by a news article about a man who was arrested for stealing a car. The news article caught our attention because it was about a man who was caught stealing a car that was worth over $100,000. The story was so shocking that it caught our attention and we thought, “Wow, this is a great story to write a song about.”

The Inspiration Behind “Big Shot Money”

The news article that caught our attention was about a man who was arrested for stealing a car worth over $100,000. The story was shocking because it was about a man who had a good job, a family, and a home, but he still felt the need to steal a car. This story resonated with us because it highlighted the struggles of the working class and the feeling of desperation that can come with financial struggles. We wanted to write a song that would capture the essence of this story and the emotions that came with it.

    The Songwriting Process

When writing “Big Shot Money,” we started by brainstorming ideas and coming up with a concept. We wanted to write a song that would tell the story of the man who stole the car, but also explore the themes of financial struggles and desperation.

The first time I heard that song, I knew I wanted to be a metalhead.
